Reduce your exposure to EM Radiation
- some practical tips:

There are many ways to reduce your exposure to Electromagnetic Radiation. You just have to be aware of EMR sources and employ strategies to avoid them.

CFL’s can be termed “Chronic Fatigue Lighting”. The technology is inherently unsafe.

Compact Florescent Lights (CFL’s)

Another area of concern is the creation of high frequency radiation, high frequency spikes and transients, radio frequency radiation, ultraviolet radiation and so called dirty power by new technologies such as compact florescent lights. CFL’s basically cause the whole wiring system to team with energy that latches on to whatever object is in near proximity, such as a human. If there are other wiring disorders present, this electro pollution and its devastating effects on the environment are exacerbated exponentially.

Dr. Magda Havis from Trent University has been making many breakthroughs in discovering sources of dirty electricity and implementing the use of filters invented and developed by electrical engineers Graham and Stetzer. Mitigation measures such as capacitive filters should be used sparingly and carefully in consultation with a professional, and never where wiring error magnetic fields are present. CFL’s also contain harmful amounts – about 5 milligrams (mg) of toxic mercury. The mercury from the millions of discarded lamps will pollute our landfills and our water tables for centuries if we do not stop the ill-advised government plan mandating the use of this toxic technology.
CFL’s can be termed “Chronic Fatigue Lighting”. The technology is inherently unsafe. A large cohort or population cannot tolerate CFLs. Many experience headaches including migraines, while others experience tiredness, skin disorders, and a host of standard symptoms common to the growing intolerance to EMR, which is termed “Electrical Hypersensitivity Syndrome” – EHS. These compact fluorescents are a mistake and the drive to enforce their use is leading to many disease states and must be abandoned altogether, while safer technologies develop. The irony is that CFL’s were supposed to protect our environment, not destroy it.

Fertility (electropolluters)

In a study published in 2002, De-Kun Li, an epidemiologist at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, California, showed that women exposed to electromagnetic fields above 16milliGauss at least once a day have a higher rate of miscarriages. [Microwave News Jul 3/08

Epidemiologist De-Kun Li, has found that daily exposures to electromagnetic fields of only 1.6 milliGauss for at least two-and-a-half hours could expect “significantly poorer” semen quality.

Men who were exposed to 1.6mG for over six hours a day were 400% more likely to have substandard sperm.
“The longer you are exposed, the higher the risk,” Li told Microwave News and the annual meeting of the Society for Epidemiologic Research in Chicago.
"This would be very important because magnetic field exposures are ubiquitous. We know that sperm quality has been going down for a long time with the largest declines in urban areas.
That would be consistent with EMR exposures which are highest in cities." Quality of semen refers to its ability of sperm to swim to the egg, and what kind of “shape” they’re in to fertilize it.
“The power-frequency fields implicated in this new study are extremely weak. They are approximately 1,000 times lower than the current ICNIRP [and Health Canada] guidelines, and some three-times lower than what many see as the threshold for increasing the risk of childhood leukemia at 3-4mG,” points out Louis Slesin, editor of /Microwave News/.

“According to a large-scale survey carried out a decade ago, close to 15% of the U.S. population is exposed to an average of more than 2mG over a 24-hour period.” [Microwave News Jul 3/08]

Other surveys show 5% of homes have fields above 2.9 mG and 1% exceeds 6.6 mG. [cellphonesafety.wordpress.com]

Yet another survey conducted in 2005 by the Australian Radiation Protection & Nuclear Safety Agency in Melbourne found approximately 12%of homes surveyed had levels above 4 mG in areas where children were likely to spend large amounts of time.

About 4% of the U.S. population is subjected to prolonged, “Extremely Low Frequency” electromagnetic fields at or greater than 4 mG. [ARPANSA Technical Report Series No. 142/05; Bioelectromagnetics Supplement 7, S51-S59/05; emfacts.com]

Transportation Systems and EMR
Planes, Trains and Automobiles all have extensive wiring systems that generate various levels on EM Radiation. While in a plane we are not only exposed to the aircraft wiring, and microwave operating systems EMR, we are also exposed to higher levels of ionizing radiation from space. Airports also have dangerous levels of high frequency pollution. It’s imperative that we reduce substantially the present number of high altitude flights.
Trains also have design issues. Light rail transit and sky trains, if the electric motors are in each car expose the riders to high levels of EMR. This could be mitigated with shielding and better layout of equipment. Acquiring and learning to use a gaussmeter provides information on areas best avoided.
Automobiles also place occupants in close proximity to electrical systems. They vary wildly in exposure levels. This is even worse in electric powered vehicles. Modifications can be made to the wiring to reduce this. Our advice is to test the vehicle before purchasing. If you cannot find a low EMR electric vehicle purchase an energy efficient fossil fuel vehicle and drive less. If possible move closer to your workplace, or carpool. Consider not owning a vehicle or joining a car-sharing group. Bicycles and e-bikes (electrical assist) are also a healthy alternative.
